Leslie is best known in the Happy Valley
as a massage therapist at her former practice,
“In Good Hands Therapeutic Massage”,
which she owned and operated from
2002 to 2015. As a bodyworker Leslie
knew that personalized treatments would
yield the greatest benefits for her clients.
Using this same, integrative, personalized
approach as a body-mind healer,
Leslie utilizes a large toolbox and works
collaboratively with clients.
Working with Leslie is creative and solution focused as she listens deeply and intuitively to the verbal, physical, spoken and unspoken dimensions of her clients. This comprehensive approach allows for the resolution of long-standing problems by tapping into the full expression of who we are as a person – body, mind and spirit.
Leslie brings a wealth of knowledge and skills from her wide range of education and training. These include holding a National License as a Massage Therapist and Body-Worker, and a Masters Degree in Social Work, which provide strong foundations for Integrative Body-Mind Healing. She is trained in multiple disciplines including Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy, Akashic Record and Oracle Card Readings, Matrix Energetics and Somatic Experiencing, and is able to blend these skills in a practical and highly effective manner.
Working with adults suffering from chronic illness, pain, anxiety and depression, Leslie brings hope, curiosity and a strong belief that opportunity is inherent in every struggle. Leslie is a healer and motivator whose insightful and caring manner help clients feel safe and supported while gaining the insight needed to improve their lives and heal emotionally, physically and spiritually.

Bouncing Back from Adversity
Having faced many challenges in her life, Leslie is able to relate to clients' emotional and physical issues with compassion, empathy and understanding. Following a debilitating back injury in 2011, she was forced to close her massage practice which was a life altering loss. Through her grief, Leslie made it her goal to return to the Healing Arts in a new way. Using her understanding of the body, in combination with an integrative healing approach, she developed her own distinct blend of methods specifically designed to get to the root of issues.
Leslie is also a cancer survivor. This experience in 2017, and her prior back injury gave Leslie personal experience with chronic pain, illness and the body-mind connection. Leslie believes strongly that adversity can be a catalyst for growth and transformation and she's living proof. Rather than taking her down, her bout with cancer helped Leslie to reassess her life. While recovering from surgery she made the choice to follow her heart and focus fully on building her body-mind healing practice.
Over the years, Leslie has seen many alternative mind, or body, or spiritual practitioners for her own emotional and physical healing. Her goal at Ladybug Body-Mind Healing is to offer clients all these treatment styles under one roof to provide as comprehensive and effective an approach to healing mind, body and spirit as possible.
Approach to Healing
The latest research in the field of mindbody disorders is that to resolve them, the underlying emotional dynamic must be addressed. These underlying issues can be found in the subconscious which is where mindbody disorders begin. Unconscious emotions are a major factor in virtually all physical disorders.
It is the battle between our conscious and unconscious minds that cause emotional and physical suffering. In order to protect us from pain, our conscious mind keeps these feelings and experiences repressed and hidden in the subconscious. It is the avoidance of this emotional pain that is the source of chronic emotional and physical conditions.
Physical conditions may develop as the body attempts to further distract us from consciously feeling our emotional pain. As a result, physical symptoms and our conscious minds conspire to divide and distract us from feeling what's hard to feel in the subconscious mind. If we continue to suppress these feelings, or only treat the symptoms, the emotional roots go even farther underground and more symptoms develop.
Treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other chronic emotional disorders with suppressive drugs only, is another example of how physical conditions can erupt. Since treating the symptoms does not eliminate the reason for the condition it is our willingness to address the conscious and unconscious causes that will set us free. By helping the subconscious break through to our consciousness, these two powerful forces can be joined instead of at odds and healing can begin.
More About Leslie
Leslie brings her training and experience in the Arts to the creative process. Her background as an artist (she used to create puppets for her own puppet company) and as an actress, singer and dancer, informs and inspires her work. She takes the same creative approach with clients by allowing the process to unfold organically.
This dance between Leslie and her clients creates a strong relationship built on trust and collaboration that forms a sense of resonance. Resonance is the energy that's created when one is fully present and aware, and where intuition is heightened within the therapeutic relationship. Imagination, guided imagery, sensation, and learning to use our five senses aid this process of shedding the old to make room for the new.
Leslie has been in the Happy Valley since 1996. She has two adult children who live in New York City, where she is proud to say she grew up. When she's not working Leslie enjoys live music, theater, and dance, singing whenever she can, watching foreign and independent films and long walks on the bike path with her dog Shelby. Leslie is a lifetime learner and is always looking for new holistic approaches to study. She lives with her better half in Florence, MA.
